Ashley Hinson launches fifth television ad: “Nightmare”

Marion, IA – Ashley Hinson, the Republican nominee for Congress in Iowa’s First District, is releasing her fifth television ad titled “Nightmare.” The ad will air across the district. In the Iowa State House, Ashley Hinson wrote the law that holds bad teachers in schools accountable for misconduct. House File 637 gives schools 30 days to report abuse allegations to the Board of Educational Examiners. Previously, there was no deadline to report misconduct and therefore there wasn’t a mechanism to force schools into following the law. https://www.legis.iowa.gov/legislation/BillBook?ba=HF637&ga=88

“As a mother of two school aged boys, I know how important it is to make sure our children are learning in a safe environment. Unfortunately, this is just one of the many instances where a child’s innocence was stripped away from them. In the Iowa State House, I built consensus and worked across the aisle to ensure that these predators would be held accountable. In Congress, I will fight every day for our kids to learn in a safe and positive learning environment.” – Ashley Hinson

Ashley is in the highest tier of the ‘Young Gun Program’ by the National Republican Congressional Committee after establishing her clear path to victory. National political forecasters believe the 1st Congressional District will be one of the most competitive races in 2020. The Cook Political Report has rated IA-01 as “Toss Up.”

Ashley has a record of winning tight elections. She won in 2018 in a swing district to help hold the Iowa House majority and outperformed the Republican ticket by 5-8 points across House District 67, the heart of IA-01. She won 9 of 13 precincts in House District 67 despite Democratic outside groups outspending Republican outside groups.
