Congresswoman Finkenauer Confirms support for raising Minimum Wage to $15 an hour

Marion, IA – Ashley Hinson does not support raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour which would bankrupt Iowa small businesses. Congresswoman Finkenauer does. This is a clear contrast in this race.

“Congresswoman Finkenauer supports a $15 dollar per hour minimum wage increase. Ashley believes a strong economy will raise wages for Iowa workers without governor mandates. Finkenauer’s commitment to mandating a $15 minimum wage would wipe out tens of thousands of jobs here in Iowa, and devastate our economy due to the number of small businesses that would have to close.” – Annie Topp, Press Secretary

In 2019, Finkenauer bragged about voting for the Raise The Wage Act to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.

Ashley will vote against this legislation when she goes to Washington D.C. representing the first district. Congresswoman Finkenauer also voted to subject small businesses with fewer than 10 employees to a 107% minimum wage increase as part of H.R. 582, Raise The Wage Act of 2019.
