Ashley Hinson dominates debate with Congresswoman Finkenauer

Marion, IA – Congresswoman Finkenauer made it clear tonight that she believes that government is the solution to everything, and increasing taxes is the way to do it. On the other hand, Ashley will work across the aisle to get things done for Iowans. Whether it’s cutting taxes or keeping our communities safe, the clear choice for voters in Iowa’s First Congressional District is Ashley Hinson.

“There are two reasons I am in this race and their names are Max and Jax. I will never be too politically correct to do what’s right for Iowans to keep my family and yours safe. I will never forget who I work for and those people are the taxpayers. It’s clear that we need new leadership in Washington who will work across the aisle to build consensus and get things done. Congresswoman Finkenauer has shown Iowans that she is just another vote for Nancy Pelosi’s radical agenda, and votes with her 93% of the time. That is unacceptable. In Congress, I will go to bat for Iowa families and make sure tax payers always have a seat at the table.” -Ashley Hinson

“Articulate, positive, and passionate! Ashley Hinson proved tonight why she’s the right person to represent Iowa’s first congressional district.” -Governor Kim Reynolds

“Great job @hinsonashley in the #IA01 Debate! You showed why you are such a great fighter for Iowa, and why I can’t wait to serve with you in Congress next year.” – Senator Joni Ernst

“Tonight, Ashley Hinson made it clear she is ready to begin working for Iowans and putting their priorities first on day one — supporting policies that allow hard-working families to keep more of their tax dollars, opening markets for farmers with more free and fair trade deals, and backing the men and women who keep our communities safe.” – Jeff Kaufmann, Republican Party of Iowa Chairman

Ashley is in the highest tier of the ‘Young Gun Program’ by the National Republican Congressional Committee after establishing her clear path to victory. National political forecasters believe the 1st Congressional District will be one of the most competitive races in 2020. The Cook Political Report has rated IA-01 as “Toss Up.”

Ashley has a record of winning tight elections. She won in 2018 in a swing district to help hold the Iowa House majority and outperformed the Republican ticket by 5-8 points across House District 67, the heart of IA-01. She won 9 of 13 precincts in House District 67 despite Democratic outside groups outspending Republican outside groups.
